On August 7-10, 2023, the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) organized the Training and Certification Activity for Zakat Qualification Scheme 3. This event grabbed attention as it involved lecturers and campus staff concerning the development of Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ).

To enhance zakat management in Indonesia, this activity aims to prepare excellent human resources. The Training of Trainers (ToT) and certification allow LMZ educators to strengthen their understanding and skills in zakat management.

The event was inaugurated enthusiastically and warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA, the Chairman of BAZNAS. Additionally, Mr. Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D, as the Director of Research and Development at BAZNAS RI, extended appreciation to the participants.

Around 12 universities participated in this activity, including Muhammadiyah University of Malang, Gadjah Mada University, Jember State Islamic University of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq (UIN KHAS Jember), Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris University (UINSI) Samarinda, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta, The Institute of Qur'anic Studies (IIQ) Jakarta, Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business UIN Ar-Raniry, Kudus State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN Kudus), Semarang State Islamic University (UIN Walisongo Semarang), Tadulako University in Central Sulawesi, UPZ IIQ Jakarta, and UPZ Universitas Wahid Hasyim.

The event comprised various training sessions and discussions. It is expected to make a significant contribution to zakat management in Indonesia. Thus, it is aimed to produce competent educators for the improvement and practice in Zakat Management Laboratory.
