On Friday, August 11, 2023, a coordination meeting for research collaboration between the National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) and the National Research and the Innovation Agency (BRIN) was held in the Ex. Vice Director Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, SWS - BRIN Building. The meeting was attended by the Division of Research and Development as the representatives of BAZNAS. M. Choirin as the Head of Division, and Hidayaneu Farchatunnisa as a senior researcher, along with other researchers. The BRIN delegation included Mr. Agus Eko Nugroho, the Head of Research Organization of the National Research and the Innovation Agency (OR BRIN), Mr. Mahmud Thoha, the head of the research team for BAZNAS-BRIN collaboration, and other representatives.

The meeting agenda centered on the research substance to be utilized in this collaborative research effort. This encompassed research instruments, data collection, processing, analysis, and related matters. This also involved reaching an agreement on the research subjects, which will focus on several zakat institutions and their optimization of roles in empowering micro and small businesses.

The purpose of this research collaboration meeting is to enhance the credibility of the expected research outcomes. These outcomes are anticipated to drive progress in community well-being, particularly in the SME sector. Several agreements were reached, taking into consideration crucial aspects related to the research. These collaborative research results are expected to gain a strong reputation in international journals, making a positive contribution to the improvement of zakat quality worldwide. This research collaboration is envisioned to proceed without hindrances, promoting seamless cooperation.
