BAZNAS RI Competency-Based Training and Certification of Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ) was held on August 7–10, 2023, and was officially opened by Prof. Dr. KH Noor Achmad, MA, Chairperson of BAZNAS. The training took place in East Jakarta at the Balairung Hotel. The Training of Trainers (ToT) was attended by 29 lecturers from 12 campuses including the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Gadjah Mada University, State Islamic University KIAI HajI Acmad Siddiq Jember, Sultan Aji Muhammad Idrsi (UINSI) Samarinda, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta, Institute of Al- Qur'an (IIQ) Jakarta, UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, IAIN Kudus, UIN Walisongo Semarang, Tadulako University Central Sulawesi, UPZ IIQ Jakarta, UPZ Wahid Hasyim University.

There are 29 lecturers from various campuses who were certified after the first batch of Competency-Based Training (PBK) and Partner Lecturer Certification from the Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ) went well. This LMZ course also collaborated with the Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) and Pusat Pendidikan dan Pelatihan (PUSDIKLAT) BAZNAS.

The National Zakat Management Agency (BAZNAS) of the Republic of Indonesia established the Zakat Management Laboratory (LMZ) as part of its "Goes to Campus" initiative to involve universities in zakat management development. This program intends to become lecturers key partners of BAZNAS in educating students and the society about the virtues of zakat. In particular, this activity is designed to boost Indonesia's zakat management by motivating the LMZ teaching staff to be ready to assist in developing outstanding human resources.
